Weekend of Rest…
Posted By Cindy on July 18, 2010
So…I totally overdid it last Thursday. Swimming in the morning, play date in the afternoon, and registering for some new baby things in the evening. Spent the evening in bed drowning myself with water and keeping my feet up to ward off the Braxton Hicks contractions I was having. Nate and I made a phone call to the doctor on Friday since I was still having some Braxton Hicks contractions and I got strict orders to keep my feet up and stay out of the heat this weekend.
Why is it that when you are super busy, all you want is to have a day of rest on the couch? BUT…when you “have” to rest and stay on the couch, it isn’t as much fun. I’ve watched every movie possible, finished two magazines, read a book, finished a Sudoku and a crossword puzzle book, and got everything off the DVR. I suppose that is being productive in some way, but as I’ve watched my mom and Nate bustle around the house doing “really” productive things, it’s made me feel extremely lazy.
It’s hard to know what is okay and what’s not…it seems that my appropriate level of activity is a moving target from day to day. We decided that I should limit myself to one activity a day for now and see how that goes. Sigh…the joys of being 25 weeks pregnant. : )

I am glad that you are doing ok! Remember that you are not being lazy EVER! You are growing TWO babies in there! Try to get some rest now! Too soon you will be wishing for a “lazy” afternoon! You are in my prayers!
Hang in there. Thursday was extremely hot for a person who wasn’t pregnant with twins. I can’t imagine what it felt like for you. I know it is hard watching other people do the thing you want to, but you don’t want to have those babies now either. Please be careful. I pray for you every night.
Love ya,
Look at it this way, you weren’t being lazy…you made a lung, or some super important brain cells!
Looks like I might need to make a “Stuff for Cindy to do kit”! Let me know if you need me to help! HUGS!
I hope that when you are resting the next few day you can get the chic flicks off the DVR. If Chad comes over and sees Hope Floats, Two Weeks Notice and Catch and Release as saved movies I don’t think I would hear the end of it…
I love Hope Floats!
Keep your feet up and call me if we can do anything!
PS – If you get REALLY bored, I will bring you school things to work on! HAHA!!!!
If you need encouragement from someone who knows the challenges of being inactive, give Valerie a call. With Ellie she was hospitalized on bedrest the last 5 weeks of her pregnancy over
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with a 2 1/2 yr old and 1 year old at home. You just do what you have to do.
